When God Steps Into My Situation 2/21/2010

Mark1:30-34

At the Home of Martha and Mary
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41 "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

One persons healing and or deliverance can change the status, the outlook, the condition, the situations of a whole family, town, city, nation...

"When God Shows Up" Pt. 4 "Sorrow" 2/28/10

John 11

The Death of Lazarus
1Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. 2This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair. 3So the sisters sent word to Jesus, "Lord, the one you love is sick."
4When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." . "Lazarus is dead, 15and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him." ... 17On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. 18Bethany was less than two miles[a] from Jerusalem, 19and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother. 20When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.
21"Lord," Martha said to Jesus,... "if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask."

23Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."...25Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

27"Yes, Lord," she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ,[b] the Son of God, who was to come into the world."...

40Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"
...So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me."

43When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" 44The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. ... Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go."

Isn't it time for you to take off your grave clothe. The clothes of depression, despair, disappointment, failure, hate, unforgiveness. Accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, for He is the resurrection and the light. Be buried with Jesus and rise to walk in the newness of Life... for My Lord, your Lord and Savior will roll away the stone of unbelief. Come, accept the Lord and become anew creature in Christ.

Pursuing the Glory of the Great I Am 3/7/10

Exodus 3:13-15

The Death of Lazarus
13 Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?"

14 God said to Moses, "I am who I am . [a] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.' "

15 God also said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, 'The LORD, [b] the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.

Moses begs God for instructions on executing this commission. He desires to know by what name God would at this time make himself known to both Israel and Pharoah. v. 13. Moses supposes the children of Israel would ask him, What is his name? This would be the test: "Does he know the name of God? Has he the watch-word?" Once he was asked, Who made thee a judge? This question, What is his name? amounted to an enquiry into the nature of the the sender-GOD

Moses desires instructions on what answer to give them: "What shall I say to them? What name shall I vouch to them for the proof of my authority? full instructions, that I may not run in vain." Note, (1.) It highly concerns those who speak to people in the name of God to be well prepared beforehand. As Moses, and others like him, pursues the Glory of God the desire is for full instruction, clarity, that the running, the pursuit will not be in vain. Like Moses, those who would know what to say must go to God, to the word of his grace and to the throne of his grace, for instructions, .

Pursuing the Glory of the Great I AM 4/4/10

Mark 16:1-8

The Resurrection
1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?"
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

6 "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' "
8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

The white-clad figure directs their attention away from the tomb and towards the future. Christian faith rests on a proclamation that Jesus is risen. This Resurrection morning one must simply believe the evidence of the empty tomb. Jesus got up with all power in His hand over death, hell, and the grave. Only believe. Today make Jesus Lord of your life by accepting Him as your personal Savior.
